All the everything from Fiber & Fox Podcast Episode 28:

*note: Bella’s Custom Crochets is now FIBER & FOX!

ADMIN:

First off, we hit 2,000 subscribers on YouTube! It blows my mind that there are 2k of you that want to hang out and chat yarn with me. Thank you, from the bottom of my fiber loving heart, for that.

Second, even bigger and more exciting news: This is the last episode you will be seeing under the business name Bella’s Custom Crochets! That’s right! Coming March 19th I will be doing a complete rebrand, including a name change! So if you aren’t already subscribed and following on all my platforms, you might wanna do that so I don’t lose you! Stay tuned for the big announcement- and I’ll probably do a premier video on launch day too!

Somewhere around the end of March I will be doing a giveaway on YouTube to celebrate both of these major events, so be on the look out!

DESIGNS:

The Hope & A Future Wrap is coming March 12th! For all things pattern release update, make sure you are following along on instagram, where I post all my tester calls, pattern progress, tester photos and release information! Being on my mailing list is a great idea too if you want to be first to know when a pattern goes live and possible coupon code info! And just a lil rumor I heard: Meg of Megs and Co mighhhhttt be doing something fun over on instagram this coming week, so keep ya eyes on our feeds! And if you still need more Meg in your life, you can jump back to the interview we did last week!

The week after the rebrand, the Dandelion Drops Wall Hanging will be published as well! It will be coming out on March 26th, as part of the Springtime Crochet Blog Hop hosted by Crochets by Trista. For the entire month of march 30+ crochet designers will be featured, and each day you can grab a free pattern for springy decor/garments/shawls/amigurumi/jewelry and more! But each pattern is only free for a 24 hour period, so make sure you’re following along daily. The Dandelion Drops will be featured on the 26th- get ready!

Okay, but how do we feel about the name “Graynbow Shawl.” I recently referred to my design aesthetic as “graynbow” – being grays and ROYGBIV rainbows- and I can’t decide if that’s the cringiest made up word ever, or actually perfect. But anyway, it’s currently the working name for my next shawl design, featuring, you guessed it, some gray and a rainbow.

FOs:

I finished my Bonfire Socks- they were supposed to be my January socks, but uhm, about that… I am so happy with how this yarn (Paton’s Kroy FX “Clover Colors” and Paton’s Kroy “Flax”affiliate links) in this slightly ribbed pattern! Paton’s Kroy is also a super budget friendly yarn that holds up great if you’re just learning to knit socks and don’t want to splurge on indie dyed! You can find the Bonfire Socks pattern free on the Potter and Bloom blog! Easily memorizable, and just enough texture to keep it interesting and make for a great snuggly fit!

Kinda a WIP and kinda a FO, and not my typical project… but I joined a new Crochet & Chat small group with a couple women from my church and we’ve decided to make little cotton face scrubby to contribute to some self-care packets that will be given out to the mamas in our church for Mother’s Day. There are tons of patterns for scrubbies out there, but these are the Cotton Crochet Face Scrubbies by Cosy Rosiefree on her blog and with a complete video on her YouTube channel. Perfect SUPER QUICK gift make! And definitely beginner friendly!

WIPs:

February Socks… in March! I am winging it on these fun textured socks done in Laine and Lotus “Meteor Shower” & “Salted Carmel” left over from other projects. I am sure something similar out there exists, but I am working with 64 sts on a US size 1. 2×2 rib cuff, a knit row, 4 rows of purl 2 knit 2, a knit row and then reversing the rib by knitting 2 and purling 2. I love the texture it is making. I am calling them my Kettle Corn socks, just cause of the colors!

AQURIINGS:

I didn’t know I was acquiring anything, but my sweet instagram friend Dana of @bluedaffodilcrafts asked if she could send me something- AND IT’S SO PERFECTLY ME.

Dana is one of my very original instagram followers and I am so glad we found each other. We keep finding more and more similarities over the years and it so blesses me that I have yarn sisters willing to keep me in prayer and send me goodies. Dana, you’re the best. Now I just need to find the perfect project for this 50/50 merino/baby alpaca DK skein (Madeline Tosh “Lannister Gold”).

That’s it! Thanks for hanging out with me and see you in Episode 29- WITH A NEW BUSINESS NAME!!! And be on the look out for videos for the Hope & A Future Pattern Drop on the 12th, the rebrand/relaunch on the 19th, and the Dandelion Drops Wall Hanging on the 26th! March, you’re a wild one!
